The short poem

A short poem is a poem that is relatively brief in length, usually fewer lines than a traditional poem. There is no fixed definition or specific length that would define a short poem, it can vary depending on the poet's preference, style, and intention. Short poems can be as short as a single line, or as long as a few dozen lines.

They can take many different forms, including haiku, sonnets, epigrams, and free verse. They can be written in traditional or modern styles and can be used to express a wide range of emotions and ideas. Short poems can be used to convey a single powerful image or idea, or to capture a moment in time.

Often considered as a more challenging form of poetry, as it requires the poet to choose their words and ideas carefully, to be precise and concision. This can make short poetry more impactful and memorable than longer poems.
